Closure of Center Rd
south of Chimacum
Rd. will be closed to all traffic at MP 1.36 (1.36 miles south of SR 19)
for a maximum four day period beginning at 9 AM August 7 and ending at or
before 5 PM August 10, to allow replacement of a failed culvert. This work
is part of the Center Rd. Overlay Project scheduled to start on August 2
and end on or before September 1. In addition to the 4 day closure,
vehicles using the roadway can expect significant delays during the
construction period. Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes
during the construction period. Information on the project may be obtained

The Jefferson County Board of
County Commissioners will hold a public hearing regarding a
proposed Resolution for a Home Opportunity Fund on Monday, July 24,
2017 at 6:00 p.m. in
the Superior Court courtroom, 2nd Floor of the County
Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson Street, Port Townsend, WA.
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.
The public hearing is to take
comments from all interested persons for or against adopting a Resolution
regarding establishing a Home Opportunity Fund. The Resolution would:

in Jefferson County for low- and very low-income households; and
2) Refer to the voters of Jefferson County
a ballot proposition on the November 7, 2017 General Election to establish
a Home Opportunity Fund to create or preserve affordable housing for low-

tax of approximately 36 cents per $1,000 assessed property value, for seven
years only. The Home Opportunity Fund would generate approximately
$1.9 million per year for seven years, held in a separate dedicated Fund,

Notice of Road
Jefferson County Road Maintenance Division will begin their annual lane
striping on Monday, July 10, 2017. Work is anticipated to be completed by
September 30, 2017. Motorists should expect minor traffic slowdowns or
delays on County roads during this period.
of Begin Construction
Jefferson County Public Works will be beginning construction on the Rick
Tollefson Memorial Trail, Phase I project soon. This project is located in
the Port Hadlock/Chimacum area, beginning at the H.J. Carroll Park and
ending at Old Hadlock Road, M.P. 0.78, approximately 0.33 of a mile
long. The trail will be a multi-use trail (pedestrians and bicycles)
and be 10 feet wide with 2 feet wide shoulders.
